The Romanian Hub for Artificial Intelligence (HRIA), together with Politehnica Bucharest, participated in the event \u201cAI for Industry: From Research to Real World Applications\u201d on March 18, 2026, a meeting that brought students, researchers, and industry leaders into the same room to explore how advanced AI research translates into concrete industrial innovation.
\nHosted at the Central Library of Politehnica Bucharest, the event was organized in collaboration with Renault Group and eVantage Soft, two long standing partners of the university in applied AI research. The workshop opened with welcoming remarks from the university\u2019s leadership, followed by a series of presentations illustrating how academic expertise and industrial needs converge in the development of next generation AI systems.<\/p>\n

Prof. Irina Mocanu presented the university\u2019s master level research directions, including state of the art work in industrial anomaly detection and federated learning for automotive defect analysis \u2014 areas where HRIA and Politehnica teams have been actively contributing to national and European research efforts.<\/p>\n

Renault Group representatives from Romania and France outlined current industrial challenges and future strategic priorities, emphasizing the growing demand for AI driven solutions in manufacturing, quality control, and predictive maintenance. Their intervention highlighted the importance of long term collaboration with academic partners capable of advancing trustworthy, high impact AI technologies.<\/p>\n

The event also featured a presentation by doctoral researcher Iulia Teodorescu, whose project \u2014 developed in partnership with Renault and eVantage \u2014 focuses on improving on time delivery rates through AI based optimization models.<\/p>\n
