On February 17, the Romanian Artificial Intelligence Hub (HRIA) was honored to participate in the Third Joint Committee on Romania–Japan Cooperation in Science and Technology, held at the Horia Hulubei National Institute for R&D in Physics and Nuclear Engineering (IFIN-HH).

Prof. Adina Florea, Director of the Romanian Artificial Intelligence Hub, contributed to the session dedicated to strategic cooperation areas, presenting Romania’s vision and capabilities in Artificial Intelligence.

During the session on potential STI cooperation areas, the agenda highlighted that “the scientific Romanian community has demonstrated along generations talent and innovation for IT applications, with a huge potential to be further developed together with Japanese partners.” This perspective aligns directly with HRIA’s mission to strengthen Romania’s AI ecosystem and foster international collaboration.

The meeting also marked an important milestone: the Signing Ceremony of the Romania–Japan Cooperation Memorandum in Science and Technology, opening new opportunities for joint initiatives, technology development, and knowledge exchange between the two countries.

We are proud to see HRIA represented at this high-level event and to contribute to shaping future collaborations in AI, innovation, and advanced research. Strengthening ties with Japan — a global leader in science and technology — is a significant step toward expanding Romania’s presence in the international research landscape.

HRIA remains committed to supporting impactful partnerships, promoting excellence in AI research, and building bridges between academia, industry, and global innovation communities.
