On July 22, 2025, the Romanian Hub for Artificial Intelligence (HRIA) hosted a strategic online workshop with its partner companies, aimed at strengthening collaboration between academia and the entrepreneurial sector in developing AI-based solutions. The event marked a key milestone in aligning research directions with the real needs of industry, with a strong focus on practical applicability and scalability of AI technologies.

The workshop brought together representatives from eight innovative SMEs involved in the project, alongside research teams from seven partner universities. Discussions focused on the next steps for validating technological concepts, clarifying integration requirements, and identifying opportunities for technology transfer within the project’s strategic framework.

Partner-Companies Projects Presented:

  • AI for Smart Cities (BEIA Consult International): Interactive service platform with AI capabilities for microclimate monitoring and automated public communication.
  • Lumber3D (Neural Grader): Robust 3D reconstruction system for the wood industry, based on computer vision and deep neural networks.
  • SafeGate (Safetech Innovations): Advanced cybersecurity device for SMEs, offering IDS/IPS, VPN, and cloud integration.
  • SignAll (Softechnica): AI platform for automatic sign language translation, designed for individuals with hearing and speech impairments.
  • LegalPrompt (Technology Systems and Services International): Multilingual AI system for legal assistance, featuring collaborative agents and a secure interface.
  • Terrasigna: Intelligent software for satellite-based monitoring of land and infrastructure stability, using AI algorithms and pilot applications in high-risk areas.

The event highlighted HRIA’s potential to generate AI solutions with real impact on the economy and society through an integrated, collaborative, and results-oriented approach. Partner companies actively contribute to industrial research, experimental development, and product or process innovation in close cooperation with universities.
