16 October 2025

On October 16, 2025, within the International Conference ICCP 2025 – International Conference on Intelligent Computer Communication and Processing, held in Cluj-Napoca, the thematic workshops “Trusted Artificial Intelligence” and “Intelligent and Autonomous Systems” took place. The workshops were organized entirely by the Romanian Hub for Artificial Intelligence – HRIA.

The workshops brought together researchers, practitioners and experts from academia and industry.

The two sessions were designed and coordinated in full by HRIA and gathered researchers, practitioners, innovators, and specialists from academia, industry, and the Romanian technological ecosystem.

The workshops aimed to explore emerging directions in the field of artificial intelligence, with a focus on trust, transparency, responsibility, and the development of intelligent autonomous systems. Participants examined current challenges, international trends, and opportunities for integrating AI into Romania’s digital and research infrastructures.

Key topics discussed included:

  • the development and evaluation of trustworthy AI systems,
  • algorithmic transparency and model explainability,
  • safety and robustness of autonomous systems,
  • advanced applications in robotics, transportation, industry, and communications,
  • international standards and best practices in AI development,
  • collaboration between academia, industry, and public institutions to accelerate innovation.

The event provided an interdisciplinary dialogue platform where ongoing HRIA projects, case studies, research results, and strategic development perspectives for the coming years were presented. Discussions highlighted the need to strengthen a national AI ecosystem that promotes responsibility, safety, and technological interoperability.

By organizing these two workshops within ICCP 2025, HRIA contributed to consolidating an advanced dialogue space in which Romanian AI research connects directly to global trends. The event demonstrated the maturity of Romania’s scientific community and its capacity to generate expertise relevant to the technological challenges of the future.
