On September 18, 2026, HRIA participated in the XXI edition of the international conference “Days of the Technical Sciences Academy of Romania – ZASTR 2026”, held on 18–19 September 2026 and hosted by the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca. The conference provided a significant platform for scientific exchange in engineering and applied research. Among the notable contributions was the participation of Prof. dr. ing. Adina Magda Florea, who represented the Romanian Hub for Artificial Intelligence (HRIA) with a high impact presentation.
Her talk, “The Romanian Hub for Artificial Intelligence: from advanced research to applications and economic impact”, offered a comprehensive overview of HRIA’s strategic role in shaping Romania’s national AI ecosystem.
Prof. Florea outlined the hub’s research directions, its interdisciplinary collaborations, and the mechanisms through which HRIA accelerates technology transfer and supports innovation with measurable economic relevance.
The session formed part of a broader conference theme dedicated to Artificial Intelligence in engineering sciences and applications, bringing together leading academics, researchers, doctoral students, and industry partners.
Within this context, Prof. Florea’s contribution distinguished itself through scientific clarity, methodological rigor, and a forward looking perspective on how AI can drive both societal transformation and economic development in Romania and internationally.
By highlighting the connection between advanced research and practical implementation, her presentation reinforced HRIA’s commitment to fostering responsible AI innovation and strengthening the bridge between academia and industry.
The presence of HRIA at ZASTR 2026 underscores the importance of collaborative efforts in advancing Romania’s position within the global AI landscape.
