We present a short excerpt from the interview with Professor Irina Mocanu: “HRIA is a support mechanism for increasing the visibility of Romanian research in AI and for helping develop real‑world applications, through a collaboration between universities and companies. Between September 22–25, the city of Timișoara hosted the 27th edition of the international symposium SYNASC – Symbolic and Numeric Algorithms for Scientific Computing, an event dedicated to interdisciplinary research in advanced algorithms, artificial intelligence, and formal methods.
On September 19, 2025, the Romanian Hub for Artificial Intelligence (HRIA) hosted a strategic workshop titled “The Future Is Built Today: AI for Health, Cities, Environment, and Security”, spotlighting one of the most urgent and promising directions in technological development—applying artificial intelligence to domains critical for societal progress.
The event brought together researchers, university professors, and academic experts in a collaborative setting focused on advancing research directions T5–T8 within the HRIA program.
