This recognition highlights the growing interest and enthusiasm for Artificial Intelligence in Romania and beyond.
On November 11, – The AI & Privacy Forum, organized by AmCham Romania, hosted a high level panel titled “Unlocking the Value of AI in Business, and in Romania”. The discussion brought together leading voices from academia, government, and the private sector to explore how Artificial Intelligence can strengthen Romania’s competitiveness, innovation capacity, and sustainable growth.
Between October 23-26, HRIA participated in the AI in Art Practices and Research conference organized by the “I.L. Caragiale” National University of Theatre and Cinematography, Bucharest.
On September 25, the Romanian Hub for Artificial Intelligence (HRIA) welcomed a delegation of experts from the World Bank, marking a key moment in strengthening international collaboration and acknowledging the progress made so far within the project.
On September 23-24, HRIA participated in the AI, Data and Robotics Forum – ADFR2025 in Norway.

Between September 22–25, the city of Timișoara hosted the 27th edition of the international symposium SYNASC – Symbolic and Numeric Algorithms for Scientific Computing, an event dedicated to interdisciplinary research in advanced algorithms, artificial intelligence, and formal methods.
On September 15, HRIA participated in the “Innovation and Growth through AI Integration” event organized by Magurele Science Park.
On September 9, the HRIA project was promoted at the “Human-Centric AI Workshop”. The workshop was organized within the Horizon Europe ENFIELD project and was hosted by the National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest.

HRIA was a co-organizer of the National Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence 2025. HRIA members were part of the Scientific Committee of the Olympiad. The Romanian team, selected following the national Olympiad, obtained 1 gold medal, 4 silver medals and 3 bronze medals at the “International Olympiad in AI” Competition, August 2-9, Beijing, China.
On June 30, the HRIA project organized the scientific presentation “Impact of Explainable AI in Sciences, Energy and Medicine: Large Language Models, Graph Neural Networks and Physics-Informed Neural Networks”. The presentation took place at the PRECIS research institute and was delivered by Prof. Saman Halgamuge – University of Melbourne and member of IEEE, IET, AAIA and NASSL, as well as distinguished visitor of the IEEE Computer Society.
On June 19, Capital Premium published the article Gala Capital Women of Success 2025.
In the article, Professor Adina Magda Florea, who received the award for launching the HRIA project during the 2025 edition of the Capital Gala Women of Success 2025, discussed the importance of Artificial Intelligence and the HRIA project.
On June 5, the second edition of the ExplainableAI Reading Group meeting dedicated to the T1 direction of the Romanian Artificial Intelligence Hub took place. The edition was dedicated to recent advances in Vision AI, proved to be both intellectually stimulating and deeply inspiring.
On June 3, the HRIA project was presented at the “First steps in AI 2025” event. The event took place at the Faculty of Informatics of the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iași.
On May 29, UVT promoted the HRIA project at the CCIFER – AI event which took place in Cinema Studio, Timișoara.
On May 28, UVT promoted the HRIA project at the AmCham – CyberSec 2025 event which took place in Iulius Congress Hall, Verdi Hall, Timișoara.
On May 26, the first edition of the ExplainableAI Reading Group meeting dedicated to the T1 direction of the Romanian Artificial Intelligence Hub took place, with the theme: “Explainable Artificial Intelligence Models for Sensitive Data” (Medicine, Law, Cybersecurity).
On May 16-17, the HRIA project was presented at the 90th Anniversary Congress of the Academy of Medical Sciences. The congress was held under the High Patronage of the Chamber of Deputies of the Romanian Parliament.
Between May 8-10, the HRIA project was presented at the AI Symposium AI Symposium in Budapest through a poster.
On March 5, the HRIA project was presented at the event “Femmes en technologie et intelligence artificielle : Innovation, créativité, inclusion” at the French Residence in Bucharest.
On March 17-18, the HRIA project was presented at the fifth edition of AI UK, the UK’s national showcase of data science and AI research and innovation. AI UK was hosted by the Alan Turing Institute in London.
Between March 13 and 16, BEIA promoted the HRIA project at the 4th edition of the festival dedicated to the latest technologies and trends in the food, agricultural and environmental industries – Poli BioFEST 2025.

Between March 9–11, BEIA promoted the HRIA project at the second edition of the GreenEnergyExpo – RomEnviroTec event held at ROMEXPO, Bucharest.
The National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest signed on March 7, 2025, at the Ministry of Investments and European Projects, the project “Romanian HUB of Artificial Intelligence – HRIA”, a reference initiative within the Smart Growth, Digitalization and Financial Instruments Program 2021-2027 (PoCIDIF).
